Grassroots activism on a global scale has rocked the capatilist cradle. With its roots in Spain, the Occupy movement spread to New York where thousands protestors joined the Occupy Wall street protests, their aim, to raise awareness on issues of inequality and injustice in a capitalist system. A tide of discontent has swept across societies whose democratic institutions increasingly serve the interests of financial institutions and transnational corporations rather than representing the views of citizens.
It has been just over a month since thestart of Occupy Wallstreet and the movement has spread to over 160 cities accross the globe. Unfortunatley, Trichy is not one of them, so I've been following the movement online. This is a great video which demonstrates contrary views from onlookers of the occupy london branch of the movement. Enjoy :-)
